Store Feature: The Detox Market Toronto

The Detox Market sits on King Street West facing Mountain Equipment Co-op.  If you haven't yet ventured inside for healthy goodies and hard-to-find natural faves, we highly suggest you do!  We give you the scoop on Toronto's newest clean & green one-stop shop.

Location:  367 King St W, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Established:  The Toronto location opened September 2012 originally as a pop-up, but now is here to stay.

Hours:  11am to 7pm daily (check the website for changes).

About:  The Detox market was founded by Romain Gaillard and Valerie Grandury.  In 2008, Gaillard and Grandury launched Odacité, freshly-made organic skincare, to much fanfare and press.  In 2010, they founded The Detox Market: A curated selection of carefully screened green brands in Beauty, Fashion and Food.  With locations in San Francisco and Los Angeles, in the fall of 2012, The Detox Market Toronto location opened with the encouragement of Naturopathic Doctor, Bita Doagoo.

The Toronto Detox Market is more than a retail store, it is also a wellness facility, including Yoga studio Yoga Vita, located upstairs, and Doagoo's Eka Health: Alternative health practice and nutrition consultations located in the building as well.  The shop also stocks raw juice and food by local business Belmonte.

The online shop has a broad and unique selection of wellness products.  Some of the brands listed online are not available at the Toronto location, but you will find these natural favourites; AquarellaHonoré des PrésHurraw!, IliaKideKusmi TeaMini Organics, Odacité, Pure ProvenceRahua, Taza ChocolateVapour. (These items ship from Canada when ordered online).

Why We Love It:  Not only do we love the space; a bright and airy shop with a loft-like feel, and the selection of some of our natural favourites, but  we love that the staff is extremely knowledgeable.  In fact, Store Coordinator Laura Townsend is a Nutritionist, and very informative when it comes to the business and products and services TDM has to offer.

Grab Bag (Andrea): Hurraw! Black Cherry ($4.99), Honoré des Prés Honoré's Trip ($84), The Detox Love package, which includes a yoga package, naturopathic consult, nutrition consult and a cleanse. (Check store for details).

Staff Favourites: Kusmi Tea Detox Tea($15.50), Rahua Shampoo($32) and Conditioner($34), Hurraw! Earl Grey($4.99), Mini Organics Superfine Jojoba($32), and Odacité Day Moisturizer($75).
