Pretty Eats: Rosemary Salt 'n' Pepper Fries
My Great Uncle Jackie used to make my sisters and I French Fries in the oven every time we'd go visit him. They would always be cooked to golden perfection, and tasted so much better than the deep-fryer kind at restaurants. Below, inspired by my great Great Uncle, is my favourite home-style way to cook fries.
1 large potato (I used a red potato here)
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp dried rosemary
Generous amounts of sea salt and ground pepper
1/ -Preheat oven to 375 F
2/ Slice potato into strips that look like traditional fries
3/ In a bowl, combine potato strips, olive oil, rosemary, salt and pepper. Toss until potatoes are fully covered.
4/ On a cookie sheet, spread potatoes out evenly so they do not overlap.
5/ Cook for 10 minutes, then flip them over. Cook for another 12-15 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
