The Cat's Meow: Ilia Lip Gloss

I grew up on lip gloss. I started young with Lip Smackers and tried every drugstore brand throughout the 90s, until I moved into a serious lacquer in the mid-00s...

Eventually I released my death grip let go of gloss in favour of a more matte application, but alas, it seems shine is back in my bag.
If you know me, you're likely aware of my HUGE totally normal beauty crush on cult-natural brand Ilia. A proponent of Ilia lipstick, the gloss is a way for me to get a subtle slick look on my mouth. No sticky-icky-ness here, just smooth smiling all the way thanks to coconut oil, shea butter and vitamin E. This shade is called White Rabbit, and it's the cat's meow, no sandpaper kisses though, just purrs.

Get it at Fresh Faced $24

  1. Might be interesting to note that that product is listed as possibly containing mica which is a large child labor trade in India :( It does look very pretty though!

    1. Thank you for your comment! Though not all mica is sourced from India. I am very familiar with this line and personally know the founder. I trust her and know that she puts a lot of thought and effort into what ingredients make it into her products.
I think it's important to be aware of these issues, but to not assume that one cosmetic company that is making great strides in the right direction is as clueless and uncaring as it's big time competition.
